The time-honored tradition of taking fifth graders to the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park is back – following a three-year hiatus. During the three-day learning adventure, students visited the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center, hiked the park’s famed Devastation Trail and completed a service project that led to the removal of thousands of stalks of invasive Kahili ginger. One of the highlights was watching the majestic volcanic glow during a special after-sunset walk through the park.
