Punahou welcomes Robert Gelber ’92 as the School’s new director of communications. Gelber joins Punahou from Hawai‘i Pacific Health, where he was director of interactive marketing. Prior to returning to Hawai‘i, he worked as a brand manager at Disney Interactive. His experience also includes work as a screenwriter and member of the Writers Guild of America. Gelber received his undergraduate degree in film and television from New York University Tisch School of the Arts and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He also has served as chair of the American Heart Association Hawai‘i Chapter Multicultural Initiatives Committee.
“Punahou is a place that holds special meaning to me and my family,” said Gelber. “It is a privilege to return here and play my part in furthering the story of Punahou for present and future generations.”
“Telling the story of the School’s rich traditions and innovative education is the cornerstone of the work we do. Robert’s experience and leadership will help Punahou stay at the forefront of communications,” commented Kathryn Nelson, vice president for Institutional Advancement.
